Roofing is done!

What a relief! The roof is finished; they left at about 6:30 pm. It is so nice not to have the pounding and pounding. Our pets are even more relieved than I am. The only problem was they installed the wrong skylights, but they've ordered the panels we had specified and will replace them when they come in.

So here are some pictures from the 3-day (expensive) ordeal:

This is the front of our house, with a wonderfully large, old live oak tree to the right.

There is the gate on our driveway, which is needed to keep the two dogs in the back yard. The roofers were not happy to put the dumpster this far back, but did it at our insistence.

Our pets were very sad through the last three days. Baillie and Cisco did not bark continuously after the first day or so, but liked CB or me in the room with them while the noise was going on. Today Baillie jumped onto the loveseat next to me, which is most unusual for her--but she was terrified by the skylight above coming off and music blaring in with a strange man's face framed in the opening.

Finally, the two dogs took naps in the laundry room to escape "reality."

And Gracie, the cat, would either cower in the middle of the family room or go behind CB's big chair, next to the entrance to the hallway.
