It's such an awesome quotation, but it was not Mandela who said this but Marrianne Williamson.

Yep, that writing is two paragraphs from my l992 book "A RETURN TO LOVE."(In the WORK section, in a chapter called PERSONAL POWER) Seeing it printed everywhere as a Nelson Mandela quote has been a rather strange experience .. he definitely did not quote it in his inaugural, by the way. I have heard that he used the material in a lesser speech (so said his office), but I have never seen the text, so I don't know what the context or attribution was.

Thank you so much for giving us this info--I so appreciate you sharing this. I've been given this quote years ago by my therapist and then by a friend awhile ago--all saying it was from Nelson Mandela's inauguration address.
I love this too and we used it a lot when I was taking my coaching class. And that is where and when I learned that is was Marianne Williamson and not Nelson Mandela.
