Yesterday MJ and I drove to San Antonio for lunch and then on to Austin to visit her brother DC and wife AA. In between San Antonio and Austin we stopped at the Outlet Malls in San Marcos, where we felt like we were in the minority. During Holy Week, many Mexicans come up to the United States to shop and have fun.
We spent the night with DC, AA, and their new miniature Bull Dog puppy, Sampson. Sampson is very cute; he's roly poly with short legs. He is nine weeks old and hops around. He growls and/or barks when he wants attention, which is almost constantly. He loves to fall asleep on DC or AA's lap.
We drove through thunderstorms getting to Austin last night. It was much easier to drive home today! But our car, among many others, was spotted with red mud. Last night when I talked with my husband, he told me it was "raining mud," which sounded pretty weird. But that's what it was--and it happens when a dust storm meets a rainstorm! Texas is an odd state. . . .
Both yesterday and today we shopped for MJ's senior prom dress, but never found one. There was one she liked, but we didn't get it and probably should have. But Austin is 182 miles away from Corpus Christi, so we're not driving back there any time soon.

Interesting.
Neil lived in San Marcos for 2-1/2 years while he went to Texas State. I really liked it there. The outlet malls are great, but the downtown area was my favorite. I love how it's kind of lost in time and has hardly any chain stores or restaurants.
