Lost book

Have you ever lost a book? http://imgs13.stockmediaserver.com/th170/getty/200130435-001.jpg

I do that more often than I'd like, because I have too many piles of books around my house. Right before Christmas a lady at my old Methodist church dropped off a book about what Methodists believe, never asking me if I wanted to teach it, only that she'd like me to look at it. This was right when our children were arriving and all Christmas preparations were in full swing, and I tossed it aside. Now I have no idea what I did with the book! I've looked and looked, going through piles, scouring books shelves, and looking in odd places.

Now I'm waiting for her to call me back, so I can ask her for the TITLE of the book, which I cannot remember. I'll probably order her another copy. (And then I'll eventually have this book I am not interested in.)

The book must be in a very safe place.

Maybe I need to pray to St. Anthony of Padua, Patron Saint of Lost Items:
St. Anthony of Padua

And I feel like these hunters who can't see the deer. Amidst all the books in many rooms, I don't see THE book!

Jan, yes, I've lost a book, an expensive library book, which I had to replace. Something rankled about having to pay all that money and, in the end, not to have the book. Gift books are a whole other thing. I love doing that. I hope you find yours.

Try asking it to find you.

I have lost 3 books!!! Waaa and two of them are out of print!!

We renovated our home last year and I think they must've got thrown out. I have looked everywhere for them. Two are written by Taylor Caldwell one of my favourite authors.

I will have to seek out second hand book shops and see if I can buy them again. It is SO irritating to lose favourite books.

Peace to you Jan:)

This is my life. We have thousands of books, and last year we finally started carefully categorizing them library-style. Before, I would drive myself mad looking for a certain book, then I'd find 25 others I'd want to read or re-read in the process of looking for the "lost" book!

That said, I do hope it turns up soon because it can be so frustrating! :(
