Yesterday I re-found this picture of my mother that my Canadian cousin Margaret gave me last year. I think it was taken around the time of her high school graduation, but I am not sure.
I'm trying to name the emotions this picture evokes in me, but I can't. I've seen similar pictures of my mother-same lipstick, same hairstyle. It's funny, they look so young, but at the same time so much older than high school age.
