To tell a story, one needs a good listener. Maybe that means each of us should be interested in the person we are with!
I read this about story in the "book" mystery I just finished A Slepying Hound to Wake by Vincent McCaffrey:
"'I guess I didn't have any (story) to tell."
"Or is it you never gave the story a chance? Your dad has a story. What's yours?"
"I don't know."
"Sure you do. You're in the middle of it, aren't you? It's all around you, isn't it? Isn't it just a matter of whether or not you think it's worth the telling? And whether you have someone to tell it to? Your dad told the stories he wanted to tell, and he told them to me because I listened.'" (201)
McCaffery, Vincent. A Slepying Hound to Wake. Easthampton, MA: Small Beer Press, 2011. 201.
Sometimes I feel like I have nothing to say, and I can see that it depends upon whether I can think of something that is "worth the telling" and if someone is listening.

I know, i often feel like a well run dry....or a flood of stuff I don't want to say publically.
You had something to say to me, and I read it yesterday afternoon and mentioned it on my blog today.

Tomorrow (scheduled for 2:06 a.m. on 2-6, so date and time match), there will be a photo of what you sent, carefully photographed so you and I are not identified too completely.
I, too, feel like I often don't have a story. I am more in reaction-mode rather than reflection- or purposeful-living-mode.
Thanks for bringing this up. I am going to journal this thought and see what happens.
BTW - I like reading what you have to say. :)
