What a cruel thing is war: to separate and destroy families and friends, and mar the purest joys and happiness God has granted us in this world; to fill our hearts with hatred instead of love for our neighbors, and to devastate the fair face of this beautiful world.

My area of the coutry is running commercials on local TV touting the importance of the war in Irag. These commercials use injured soldiers to talk about how Iraq attacked us and how we have to be in this war to "protect our country."
These commercials are so full of saddness because of the injured soldiers, but also erroneous information about who did what...
war is a cruel cruel thing...
why indeed? I don't think we're very good listeners about anything.
